Subjects for Years 11 - 12


English is the only mandatory subject in the senior years.

There are several different levels available to study:


  • English Standard

  • English Advanced

  • English Extension 1
    You must be studying English Advanced to choose this option.

  • English Extension 2
    Only available in year 12,
    You must also be studying Extension 1 to elect this option.

Extension courses are offered in the following:


  • Maths
    You must be studying Mathematics not General Maths

  • History

  • Japanese Extension
    (through the Distance Education Unit)


Non UAI Elective Subjects


Some elective courses are offered that do not qualify for UAI:


  • Photography, Video & Digital Imaging

  • Sport Lifestyle and Recreation

  • Visual Design

  • Work Studies


Non HSC Course of Study


An alternate study path is the “School to Employment Program” (STEP) which caters for students who wish to prepare for entry into the workforce and do not necessarily want to attain a UAI or HSC. The goal of this program is for each student to be in permanent employment by October of Year 11.

* N.B. VET is “Vocational Education Training” – these provide qualifications that may help in gaining employment.
