Parents need to bring proof of immunisation to the school prior to enrolment. There are several infectious diseases which require your child to be kept away from school for varying periods of time. Please ring the school if you are unsure of the exemption time. Specific instruction is given at school to help protect the health and safety of your child.
Please encourage the following behaviours which are considered important for you child's health and safety.
If your child is absent, please send a note with them when they return. A note may be sent in advance if you know your child will be absent.
You will be asked to fill in emergency/medical contact numbers on your child's enrolment forms. It is vital that the office notified of any changes to this information. Changes of address and phone number also need to be notified.
Catching a bus at your school can
be a difficult task at first for a young child. You may
need to have a responsible older student accompanying your child
on the bus.
Road safety and bus safety are very important issues
for your child, particularly when starting school
as they are unsure and excited.
Check that they know how to get on, behave properly
on the bus and get off safely.
If a teacher is concerned about a child's health, whether they are feeling unwell or the result of an accident, they will get someone to accompany your child to sick bay with a note. The person on duty there will decide whether it is necessary to call you or just offer "time out" for a while.
Interviews with teachers and other school personnel can be at parent or teacher request. Ring the front office to make arrangements for an appointment. Teachers will contact you for an appointment if necessary.
Children who have a birthday during the school year may bring cakes to school. We request that you send in cup cakes as they are easier to handle and distribute.
